General information

Atelier Lulu Pied is an excellent base for walking, cycling, fishing and discovering interesting places, exploring the region's hills, woods, vineyards and beautiful typical French towns.

The small market town Charolles is 12km away and famous for the Charollais breed of beef cattle. Charolles has a range of facilities including large open air swimming pool, supermarkets and shops (12 km), La Clayette with its beautiful château and similar facilities 12km.

The historic towns of Cluny, Autun and Paray-le-Monial are close by.

In the neighbourhood of Cloudeau are many castles, Roman churches, lakes and fantastic restaurants offering all the good spices of the Burgundy kitchen.

 In the southern Burgundy you can follow the 'chateau route' inviting you to visit exceptional residences. Not to forget, the vineyard routes taking you through picturesque villages. Cluny is famous for its abbey and National stud farm. Cluny is a 30 minute drive away and worth a visit.

In the gîte is a map full of information about activities and places of interest in the area for you to visit. From amusement parks, animal parks, museums, churches, places of interest, wine tasting, good restaurants, golfing, horse riding, hiking trails and cycling routes.

There are several golf courses nearby; Macon, Autun, Montceau etc.

The nearest airport is Lyon 120km away which will take one hour and a half, car hire is available there. Calais port is about 700km away taking six hours and thirty minutes.
